Vampire Poetry

Once I Awake: By Comicality

The need intoxicates my senses
The anticipated thrill
The warm rush of rapidly expiring life
The bitter tang of the essence

I know that I’ve pushed the craving aside
Denying its thirst
Playing the role
Pretending to be unaware of its inevitable return

I never believe.
I never resist.
I only prolong the climax
I only increase the hunger

My body trembles from its lacking
My eyes burn with a crimson glow
My tongue curls upward to tease the fangs
Beckoned from their heated sheathe

Tonight will be another kill
Another life taken from them
Another life given to me
The eternal recycling of passionate nectar

I rise
I hunt
I kill and I flee
Tonight my wickedness shall be renewed

Once I awake
